If you are a Weymouth boy, 3rd  (2nd) though 8th grade, interested in competitive basketball, then a Travel Team may be for you. Please note that 2nd graders are invited to tryout for the 3rd grade team.

 

Teams play games against other South Shore towns from November to March. Many grades have two teams. There are two practices per week (new this year) and games are typically on weekends. Home games are Sunday afternoons at Chapman Jr. HS, although the 3rd Grade teams play all their games at Starland in Hanover (Starland runs the 3rd grade league).

Registration for tryouts is free, but you need to register. Online registration closes this Thursday 9/22.

This is a drop off event. only players (during their scheduled time) and evaluators are allowed in the gym. If you want to wait nearby for your young players, you are welcome to wait in the gym foyer. And please, do not bring a personal basketball. If a player brings one by accident, we will hold it for him at the registration table.

We hope to announce teams by mid October, but it may take longer. It is a difficult task to select teams. Invitations will be sent by email.

The fee is $350. Through our calendar fundraisers we have been able to avoid raising our fee despite increased operational costs. All players are responsible for buying a uniform for about $75. It is the same uniform we have had for several years. Travel players can register for Town teams at a 50% discount. The discount code will be created once the travel teams are set.
